Key takeaways

  • Compare the measurable label facts before interpreting marketing language.
  • Use current manufacturer information and official UK sources.
  • The FSA advises healthy adults to limit CBD from food to 10mg a day.
  • This guide does not diagnose, prescribe or recommend CBD for symptoms.

Start by defining the drink format

Ready-to-drink cans, concentrated shots, coffee products, tea, powders and mixers are not direct equivalents. Identify whether the pack is one finished serving, several servings or an ingredient that must be prepared. This prevents a small shot appearing expensive merely because it is compared by liquid volume with a large can.

Use a consistent comparison table

Record facts on the current label and the date the retailer page was checked. When a fact is missing, mark it as undisclosed rather than filling the gap from a similar product or old listing.

  • CBD per serving and per container
  • Servings per pack
  • Price per serving and per 10mg CBD
  • Caffeine, sugar, sweeteners and calories
  • Flavour and allergen information
  • FSA register status and batch-document availability

Separate product evidence from supplier reputation

A retailer’s Trustpilot score describes feedback about that business; it is not a laboratory result or a score for every item it sells. Likewise, a certificate for one batch should not be silently applied to another. Strong comparisons state precisely what each source supports.

Treat taste as subjective

Flavour, sweetness, bitterness and carbonation can be summarised from clearly attributed feedback, but they should not be presented as universal facts. A useful review reports recurring patterns, the number and date range of sources, and any disagreement between reviewers.

Use rankings that readers can audit

An overall score should be traceable to published criteria such as label clarity, value, formulation transparency, format convenience and evidence quality. Affiliate commission must not change the editorial score. Where two retailers offer the same product, price and link placement can be updated without duplicating the product review.

Sources and checking notes

Official guidance and product information can change. Sources were checked on 3 August 2026; follow the current product label and latest authority advice.
